I have been a pediatric occupational therapist working with kids from birth and beyond since 2002. I graduated from the Masters of Occupational Therapy program at Concordia University Wisconsin and have been working with children ever since. I enjoy meeting new children and families to help coach and guide you through the process of increasing your child’s functional independence.
As an OT I address concerns with your child’s fine motor, visual motor, motor planning, and sensory processing. Activities that I can support you in include daily living skills such as play, community outings, mealtime, hygiene, and dressing routines. I enjoy discovering what is unique about each child and family and using a learning style that best fits into your daily routines. During treatment sessions I demonstrate activities through play and continuously explore what motivates each individual child. I like to have families participate by taking photos and your own personal videos so your child can watch themselves being successful and can carry over therapy strategies at home.
I also enjoy studying about new treatment strategies by participating in continuing education throughout the year. I have focused my ongoing studies on learning more about sensory integration dysfunction, managing difficult behaviors, hand writing intervention, treatment of neuromuscular disorders, and intervention for visual impairments. I also enjoy training students and learning from my experience as a clinical educator for fieldwork placements. I look forward to working with your child and your family as well.
